The best guidance comes from a strong foundation of knowledge. In your first meeting with our dispute resolution solicitors we will discuss the details of your case, establishing the options available to you.

Will & Probate

You must also name the people you want to appoint as ‘executors’ of your will – the people who carry out the administration of your will after your death. These could be friends or family members, or a professional such as your solicitor. A good combination would be a friend or family member and a professional. Ideally, you should choose someone who is familiar with financial matters.

Before you begin the legal process of ending your marriage, it’s important to understand what you will need to do. For example, we can make sure the New Zealand Courts have jurisdiction to deal with the divorce and can advise you if you married abroad. You will have to make sure your case can proceed on one of the five facts that prove you have grounds for divorce. In order to divorce, you need to have been married for more than a year.

We represent clients in New Zealand  High Court litigation, international commercial arbitrations under all of the key institutional rules (LCIA, ICC, SCC, SIAC, HKIAC) as well as in the full range of ADR processes. Settlement of a dispute is often the preferred outcome for all concerned. A significant part of our skillset is creating settlement dialogue (through correspondence, negotiation or mediation sessions) in order to negotiate deal terms to settle disputes.

The team at Arkohgodfred Consult is recognised both nationally and internationally for its commercial expertise in dealing with debt recovery and the litigation arising from the commencement of legal proceedings. In addition the team have an excellent reputation for dealing with insolvency matters. The Commercial Recoveries team has experience with cross-border matters and after analysis of the contractual terms will provide advice as to the best forum for a cross-border claim.

We act for people at every stage of life, from families who wish to pass their estates on safely and without excess liabilities to those who wish to set up trusts to care for children or vulnerable adults. To ensure we provide the very best advice, we will always start by taking the time to understand your situation, meeting with you face-to-face at our offices or in your home to discuss your needs.
